A restaurant defined by surprises. The unassuming location means u may not know you’re in front of the restaurant while standing outside. Dishes are planted and constructed for unexpected moments. The tasting menu included 25 separately plated bite sized items - each small and deceptively hiding their underlying complexity.Every item on the menu showed effortless balance in composition. Execution and delivery was flawless. The restaurant is small, and tables are within earshot of each other. The kitchen has a large window for the food to be passed - meaning working noise can be heard but the kitchen staff are professional and quiet, so the patrons are really the only source of sound. The standout dishes were the starters and desserts.I honestly think the food is of 2 Michelin star quality, but the restaurant may get pulled down a bit by its ambience.Add the fact that it’s reasonably priced for the quality and it becomes a better value proposition for a family or couple. If you prioritise the quality and preparation of food over the fancy setting around you, this is definitely worth a stop.
